Originally called ‘Bama Buns (an abbreviation of Alabama due to the pecan’s ties to the south), but renamed and improved upon in honor of President Barack Obama, these are deliciously rich, sticky buns. The dough is full of tasty butter and the topping is made with a mixture of honey, muscovado sugar, and an abundance of toasty pecans. It’s a weekend special we look forward to every week no matter our politics.
