Hamantaschen

A bright spot in the middle of winter is Purim, the Jewish holiday celebrating the triumph of Persian Jews over the wicked minister Haman. We celebrate Purim with hamantaschen, a three-cornered butter pastry cookie, stuffed with sweet fillings. The most traditional fillings are apricot preserves, poppy seed, and sweet cheese. One of the best Jewish sweets!
