8-Grain 3-Seed Bread

A long list of good-for-you grains come together in a dense, tasty, long-lasting, naturally leavened loaf. It all starts with a hearty and healthful mix of organic whole grains and seeds: oats, buckwheat, rye, corn, barley, rice, millet, poppy seeds, and flax seeds. Then we add hard red spring wheat from Michigan that’s freshly milled here at the Bakehouse, sourdough starter, sea salt, and a little local honey from Gearig Apiaries in Ithaca, Michigan. The whole loaf is rolled in sunflower seeds and sent off to the stone hearth oven, resulting in a nearly irresistible outer crust. Try a slice spread with your favorite nut butter and drizzled with honey. This is no breakfast for the birds. It’s packed with flavor and fiber to start your day off right.
