They're Back!

Sugar Crisp Muffins
Some people call this the doughnut muffin. It’s a splendid flavor combination, buttermilk nutmeg muffins rolled in cinnamon sugar. Do yourself a favor and find out why it has so many fans.

Grapefruit Tarts
A sure-fire way to brighten the darkest of winter days. Our crisp butter tart crust filled with vanilla bean pastry cream, crowned with ruby red grapefruit supremes and a fresh mint leaf. These tarts have gorgeous color and a bright full flavor. They will make you ooh and ahh.

Chestnut Cream Rigó Jancsi Torta
Only Zingerman’s Bakehouse is making this special dessert! A new version of the traditional Hungarian coffeehouse torte named after Rigó Jancsi [ree-go yan-CHEE], a famous Hungarian violinist. A regal torte made with two light layers of chocolate chestnut sponge cake, filled with rum-spiked chestnut whipped cream, iced with a thin layer of apricot glaze and finished with rich dark chocolate ganache. Chestnuts are a staple in Hungarian food and desserts and we knew they would add a new layer of flavor to this classic torte. We invite you to experience it for yourself. Your taste buds will be so in love with it, they’ll serenade you with romantic violin music.

Pear & Cream Cheese Rétes
Meet a noteworthy addition to our family of rétes (that’s Hungarian for strudel), pear & cream cheese. Inside that powder sugar-dusted, golden brown, flaky exterior is an exceptional filling, two-fold! First, there’s a ribbon of Great Lakes pear preserves from Food For Thought in Traverse City, Michigan that’s crafted from organic pears. Then that’s complemented with fresh cream cheese from our neighbor Zingerman’s Creamery, that we lightly sweeten and stir in real vanilla bean. It’s a collaboration in flavor sure to turn your morning coffee or afternoon tea into the highlight of your day.

New Treats for a New Year!

Chocolate Tahini Coffeecake
This pairing of Valrhona chocolate, organic heirloom sesame spread from Turkey and our famous coffeecake is a luscious combination. Think of an indulgent peanut butter cup in coffee cake form, with all of the flavor but none of the peanuts!

Veggie Confetti Sweet Bread
Our latest sweet bread features a bounty of the Michigan harvest, with grated zucchini, beets, and carrots along with freshly milled whole grain spelt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. The vegetables give the bread dotted, confetti-like bursts of color and a moist crumb full of flavor—a lot like pumpkin bread, but without the pumpkin. The spelt adds a mild sweetness.
