We’re passionate about making cakes that taste as good as they look: real cake, real buttercream, and our own fondant.

For the best flavor and texture, let chilled buttercream cakes come to room temperature for at least two hours.

Store at room temp for 3 days. Need to store it longer? Refrigerate it.


hunka burnin' love chocolate cake

Our dense buttermilk chocolate cake covered in rich Belgian chocolate butter cream. Customers have been known to fall in love with it. Bakers have been known to eat the batter even before it makes it to the oven. Available in 6" and 9" rounds and sheet cakes.

Rigó Jancsi

A traditional Hungarian coffeehouse torte named after Rigó Jancsi (1858-1927), a famous Hungarian violinist who seduced and married Clara Ward, Princesse de Caraman-Chimay. It's two light layers of chocolate sponge cake filled with chocolate rum whipped cream and iced with apricot glaze and dark chocolate ganache. The cake is a 9"x6.5" rectangle and serves 6-8.

Dobos Torta

Pronounced [doh-bosh], this traditional Hungarian coffeehouse torte was created in 1887 by well known chef and confectioner József C. Dobos (1847–1924). It's five thin layers of vanilla sponge cake and dark chocolate butter cream, all topped with pieces of crispy dark caramel. Taste one of Hungary's most famous tortas!

24 carrot cake

We peel and grate forty pounds of carrots to make one batch of this cake. All those carrots add an incredible moistness and a fresh sweetness to the cake. Combine them with toasted walnuts and aromatic spices and you get a great cake that's totally delicious on its own. Cover it with a generous amount of cream cheese frosting and it becomes irresistible. Available in 6" and 9" rounds and sheet cakes.

The quintessential birthday cake. A dense buttery yellow cake filled with raspberry butter cream and covered in smooth vanilla swiss butter cream. The cake itself has an enticing aroma from the sweet Wisconsin butter and the Guernsey family dairy buttermilk. Lots of our customers like to customize it by ordering it with chocolate butter cream instead. That makes it a classic American dessert. Available in 6" and 9" rounds or sheet cakes.

When Zingerman's Roadhouse opened we were inspired to introduce many old time American favorites. Hummingbird cake is one of them. A traditional southern cake with toasted coconut, fresh bananas, toasted pecans and pineapple covered in cream cheese frosting. Available in 6" and 9" rounds.

white chocolate raspberry chiffon cake

It looks a little like a winter snowfall. It feels light and creamy. It tastes heavenly. Layers of yellow chiffon cake sandwiched with vanilla bean pastry cream and Italian raspberry preserves. It's all covered in vanilla butter cream and white chocolate shavings.

A modern twist on a Passover Tradition — Sponge Cake! We’ve dressed up this normally tasty but plain dessert and it's so good we're making it beyond Passover. Try our light and lemony sponge cake with lemon curd between the layers and a caramelized meringue exterior. A pretty, flavorful and light ending to a Passover feast. Plus it's wheat free!

*New in 2012- made with inverted sugar instead of corn syrup.

While the ingredients of the cake itself are wheat free, it is made at the Bakehouse where we use wheat flour in other products. If your wheat or gluten intolerance is severe, it is suggested you consult with your personal physician before consuming this product.
