Grapefruit Tarts- Available for a limited time!
A new way to brighten the winter days. These spectacular tarts are made with our crisp butter tart crust filled with vanilla bean pastry cream, crowned with ruby red grapefruit supremes and a fresh mint leaf. When Amy suggested we make these, we all thought it sounded good, but didn’t know how good until we saw them and then tasted them. They have a gorgeous coral pink color and a bright full flavor. The slightly tart grapefruit and the creamy pastry cream compliment each other perfectly. Stop in and experience it for yourself before they’re gone. They will make you smile like a ray of sunshine.
A new version of the traditional Hungarian coffeehouse torte named after Rigó Jancsi [ree-go yan-CHEE] (1858-1927), a famous Hungarian violinist. A regal torte made with two light layers of chocolate chestnut sponge cake (made with a little Michigan chestnut flour), filled with rum spiked chestnut whipped cream, iced with a thin layer of apricot glaze and finished with rich dark chocolate ganache. Chestnuts are a staple in Hungarian food and desserts and we knew they would add a new layer of flavor to this classic torte. There is a buzz around the Bakehouse over this new creation. We invite you to visit us and to try it for yourself. Your taste buds will be so in love with it, they’ll serenade you with romantic violin music.
