Summer has arrived- let’s eat!

You can tell summer is officially here at the Bakehouse! Mr. Makielski is delivering fifty pounds of fresh cut rhubarb today from his family's farm in Ypsilanti, so we can get to work on making some pies. Katie, our bakeshop manager, is making weekly trips to the Ann Arbor farmer's market to pick up Michigan strawberries for strawberry shortcake made with our sweet cream biscuits. Mariska's cool and creamy cucumber soup, made from Anne's grandmother's recipe, is a popular choice for lunch in our courtyard. And we're anxiously awaiting local tomatoes to come in so we can get our first taste gazpacho. Stop in for a visit, see what we're up to and ask for taste!
